It has arrived!

A couple of you previously received sneak previews of the new look, some of you may have had no idea this was coming.

I've been messing with this layout concept for a while, and today put myself hard at work implementing it for use with the site's current content management system.  I admit, what I have done is not the cleanest implementation possible code-wise, but I've tested it and it gets the job done and looks great while doing so.  I had originally planned to keep it under wraps for a while longer but I suddenly found myself finished with all the necessary work tonight.

So I am proud to unveil GamerPost.net 2007, a new look for a new year, a new look for the revitalization of this site, a new look for the future.  Enjoy.

Forum Changes:

I hope to implement much of the style of this layout, including a black background rather than a white, into the forum theme soon.  Some of you may have noticed the recent changes to the forums.  Already done are new rank images and new icons for "New Posts" and "No New Posts" to go along with this look.

The new rank system is simple and will be as follows.  New registrants will be "Members."  Those members who have proven their loyalty to GPn and stick around with thoughtful, constructive posting may be invited to join the ranks of the GamerPost Veterans.  Above the Veterans, there will be the GamerPost Moderators, and the GamerPost Administrators.  Anyone promoted into such a position is done so at the will of the current Administrators and one must already be a Veteran to be eligible.

Coming Soon:

There is much more to come...  We hope for our content to represent the interests of the frequent visitors, the veterans, of this site.  Many of our news posts may, in turn, become very opinionated, but that's the intention.  I, myself, will be posting much related to World of Warcraft.  With the new layout finished I will try to post WoW news, some of my own personal screen shots from WoW, and with the release of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, I will attempt to start my WoW blog up again.  Be sure to visit to read about my experiences exploring Outland as I level my Troll Hunter to 70.

Anyway, have fun with the new layout and I hope to see everyone on the Forum!

Well, after getting through the class that these were started for, as well as the holidays, production has kicked back into overtime on the Spoof Wars Short Films. http://gamerpost.net/SpoofTrailerThumb.jpgAs promised, as the release of Typhon grows very near, we are releasing a trailer for the films. Though the trailer doesn't say it, the designated name of the collection of short films is "Spoof Wars: Tales of the Jebi". This is very likely the only trailer you'll see until Typhon is released later this month.

I was originally going to release this trailer yesterday, until an error in Premiere cause me to have to wait. Then when I fixed it, I showed it to Ryan, who promptly wanted to get to work on some very impressive 3D titles for it. The effects have been kicked up a notch from our original intentions, thanks again to Ryan's training from Full Sail in Florida.

As the trailer says, Typhon will likely be finished in late January, Shadows a month later, and although we have no set date for the last mini-short, it will likely be soon after Shadows, along with the DVD. There's definitely talk about another round of short films, some Spoof Wars, some not, but we'll decide on that once we finish this round (and we'll make sure to cut down on the effects next time for quicker releases and editing).

And so now, thanks to the hard work of Ryan, the cast and myself, we are ready to finally release the first look at the Spoof Wars shorts!

I posted this in the forums, but it needs to be here too.

In observing the site's activity over the most recent months, we've seen that almost everyone really comes here for the forums. While our site setup is nice, we've found that the ambiguous direction and name "community" tends to scare newcomers away.

Since the JA attempts have once again failed, Count will be closing down our new server. We'd still encourage anyone who still wants to run one to do it, as I think DarthMonkey is working on one. Also, the Game Blog will be closed, although any Veteran Member (those of you who are now Comm. Members) can post an opinion thing or blog-like item like Green has recently been doing.

The forums themselves have been cleaned up and pruned into prune juice. For example, we've combined all three Creative Corner forums into one, and moved it into our Discussion section. We're also ditching the serious forum.

The main site will be getting a visual overhaul with new color themes and new non-flash banner. The site's logo is being updated, and we may be creating a "mascot" of sorts for the site. Maigus has been promoted to Administrator, and Green has been promoted to Moderator. Count is also looking into advertisements for the site. Once we have a simpler, easier to navigate site, then we can focus on the site's intentions and means of gathering more people.
