In the midst of the recent reveal of Sonic the Hedgehog as a playable character, Nintendo has officially announced that Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed until February 10th, 2008. While this is unfortunate news, the delay is mainly for reasons of fine-tuning the game, with whispers of some kind of customizable content and perhaps expanded Wi-Fi play.

On the plus side, Super Mario Galaxy, Link's Crossbow Training and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games are all looking to be very fun and impressive games. Surely these will help withstand the extra wait....

There's a lot that's happened in the last day, so here's the quick rundown.

-Sonic the Hedgehog is officially in Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

-Smash Bros. appears to have been slightly delayed - possibly to January.

-Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has been moved up to November 6 - before Super Mario Galaxy, and only a few weeks away!

-Wii Update 3.1 adds USB keyboard functionality, and allows for sending favorites and links to buddies

Nintendo Conference 2007

-The Everybody's Nintendo Channel (a DS Demo Download channel), Check Mii Out Channel and various WiiWares including Pokémon Farm, Dr. Mario and a new Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles are on the horizon. Videos are shown. The DS Download channel will also feature game videos and trailers. The image “http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/5534/sonic071010dltr5.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

-Everybody Votes Channel will soon include game voting, and allow people to determine what kind of games they like. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games will also now have Mii integration, and four "Dream Events" based on the two characters' universes.

-Several new games are announced, including Fire Emblem DS, Super Mario Stadium Baseball and Kirby Superstar DS.

-Videos and images of various games including SSBB, Mario Galaxy, Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii are shown - and motorcycles are revealed on the latter.

Apparently, there's a North American event tomorrow, so we may get some clarification as far as.......well everything. Hopefully including release dates.

Be sure to join the discussion for images, videos and anything else we find out!
